Alexandra M. Amador

Alexandra M. Amador practices in the areas of real estate, community association law, business transactions, construction, and appeals. Prior to entering the practice of law, Ms. Amador worked for a community association management company for over ten years as an architectural manager and comptroller. Ms. Amador obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, and Master of Business Administration with a concentration in construction management from the University of North Florida. She employs her knowledge and experience in the practice of law in her legal focus areas.

Ms. Amador was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2013 after earning her Juris Doctor degree from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2013, graduating Magna Cum Laude and obtaining a Certification in Advanced Legal Research, Writing and Drafting. While in law school, she was the recipient of the Governor’s Scholarship and Dean’s Honors Scholarship. Ms. Amador was also the Executive Editor of Florida Coastal Law Review, Vice President of the Moot Court Honor Board, and a member of the National Order of Scribes.

Ms. Amador is admitted to practice law in Florida state courts and the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida.

Michelle P. Haines

Michelle P. Haines worked at the McCabe Law Group during her three years in Law school as a law clerk. She learned under the direction of Michael J. McCabe. Ms. Haines practices in the areas of construction, real estate, community association law, licensure defense, probate, estate planning, corporate governance, and appeals.

Ms. Haines earned her Juris Doctor degree from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2013. She graduated Summa Cum Laude, top 5 in her class, and with Dean’s Honors. She was the Staff Editor for Florida Coastal Law Review, Secretary of the Moot Court Honor Board, and received a Certification in Advanced Legal Research, Writing and Drafting. Ms. Haines obtained her undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston, graduating with honors and earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.

Ms. Haines is admitted to practice law in Florida state courts and the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida. She is a member of the Florida Bar Association, St. Johns County Bar Association, and Jacksonville Bar Association.

James A. Klempin

James A. Klempin practices in the areas of real estate, contract, construction, community association law, eminent domain, land use, and government.  Mr. Klempin worked at the McCabe Law Group, P.A. during his time in law school as a Law Clerk. 

Mr. Klempin attended Barry University School of Law and earned his Juris Doctor degree in 2016.  While in law school Mr. Klempin was a member of the Moot Court Honor Board and became the Vice Justice of the Executive Board.  Mr. Klempin also acted as a Teacher’s Assistant in Legal Research and Writing and assisted in coaching Moot Court competition teams.  Mr. Klempin continues to coach Moot Court Competition teams for Barry University School of Law. 

Mr. Klempin was admitted to the Florida Bar in September 2016, and is a member of the Young Lawyers section, City, County & Local Government Law Section, Environmental & Land Use Law section, and Real Property, Probate and Trust Law section.

Michael J. McCabe

Michael J. McCabe, shareholder of McCabe Law Group, P.A., practices in the areas of construction, real estate, community association law, eminent domain, land use, and government. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Florida State University. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2005 while continuing to work as a Professional Engineer.

Mr. McCabe has extensive experience in representing community associations in a variety of matters, including collections, association governance, election disputes, enforcement of association governing documents, construction and design defect claims, and mediation and arbitration with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

Mr. McCabe has represented construction professional and corporations in contract negotiations and dispute resolution. His eminent domain, environmental, and land use practice includes the filing of applications and the organization, preparation, and presentation of disputed matters. He has represented clients before municipalities and county zoning authorities as well as state and local government agencies.

Prior to entering the practice of law, Mr. McCabe worked as a civil engineer for seven (7) years as an aviation, transportation, and structural engineer. His experience in construction management includes scheduling, estimating, contract negations, contract agreements, performance bonds, utility agreements, right-of-way acquisition, and project management.

Mr. McCabe is admitted to practice law in Florida state courts and the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida. He was appointed as a Special Magistrate in St. John’s County. He also serves as counsel to the Town of Hastings. Mr. McCabe legal counsel to the Industrial Development Board and the County Code Enforcement Board in St. Johns County.

Mary Scheps Scott

Mary S. Scott is a Partner in the Litigation Practice of McCabe Law Group, P.A.

Ms. Scott focuses her practice on commercial litigation matters. She also has experience in special assets, commercial debt collections, construction lien law and bankruptcy law.

Ms. Scott is a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association. She is a former President of the Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association and she has been recognized by the Florida Association for Women Lawyers for her contributions to the organization.

Ms. Scott received her B.S. from the University of Alabama in 2000. She earned her J.D. from Tulane University Law School in 2003.

She is admitted to practice in Florida; the Middle District of Florida; and the Southern District of Florida.

Geoffrey B. Dobson

Geoffrey B. Dobson is of counsel to the firm, specializing in the areas of municipal law; commercial, construction litigation, labor law, and environmental law. Mr. Dobson born Lynbrook, New York, October 16, 1938; admitted to bar, 1964, Florida; 1965, Georgia, U.S. District Court, Northern District of Florida; 1970, U.S. District Court, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida and U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit; 1973, U.S. Court of Appeals Eight Circuit and U.S. Supreme Court; 1981, U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit; 1984, U.S. Tax Court.
